About the data
ChessRatings follows 12 of the strongest open-section players and 5 leading women. Each profile lists the player's FIDE Elo rating in classical chess, plus rapid and blitz where available, together with country, title and year of birth. The figures are taken from the official rating lists of FIDE, the International Chess Federation, and are kept in a curated list on this site rather than pulled live, so they can trail FIDE's latest monthly list. Classical ratings: FIDE standard rating list, October 2026. Rapid and blitz figures are from an earlier FIDE list and are not updated with it.
